When business analysis can help

When the problem is known but teams have different requirements, when a process is about to change or when a technology project needs preparation. Analysis helps define the problem before choosing a solution.

What we analyse

  • Objectives, stakeholders and the boundaries of the initiative.
  • Process steps and information exchanges.
  • Functional requirements and user needs.
  • Priorities, dependencies and acceptance criteria.

How we work with your team

We start with conversations and available documentation, describe the current situation and validate our interpretation with the people involved. We then define priorities and how the solution will be assessed. Depending on the scope, deliverables may include process diagrams, structured requirements, use scenarios and acceptance criteria.

What your team can work with

Depending on the agreed scope, business analysis deliverables may include:

  • Process diagrams: show the current steps, responsibilities and information handovers, so the team can review where change is needed.
  • Structured requirements: describe what a process or system needs to support, with priorities and dependencies made explicit.
  • Use scenarios: explain how people will use the proposed solution in day-to-day work.
  • Acceptance criteria: describe what must be demonstrated before the team accepts a requirement as met.

We agree the scope and level of detail around the decisions your initiative needs to support.

Analysis before implementation

Documentation serves the decisions that need to be made. Its level of detail should support collaboration between the business and technical teams. Scope, deliverables and responsibilities are agreed around your initiative.

An illustrative example: clarifying a reporting request

A request such as “we need a better sales report” leaves several decisions open. Who will use the report? Which sales measure matters? What period, filters and refresh frequency are needed? Where does the data come from? Business analysis turns those questions into requirements and acceptance criteria that the business and technical teams can review together.

Preparing the first conversation

Describe the process or initiative, the people involved, the difficulties you have observed and the decision you need to prepare. We can also start from a business need that does not yet have a technical specification.
